The Old Town of Corfu is an UNESCO Heritage Site because of its numerous architectural remains which cover a wide range of historical periods, from the Venetian rule through to the 19th century, including highlights from the 16th and 17th centuries.

Corfu Town (Kerkyra) is the largest town in the Ionian islands - built between two Venetian Fortresses - Corfu Town has its own unique atmosphere. Here you can discover plenty of shops, restaurants, cafe's and small taverns, set amongst elegant historical buildings, small churches, the impressive fortresses and narrow alleyways leading to hidden squares.

A "Must have Seen" is Kanoni, just to enjoy the view of 'Mouse Island' and the Achillion, which is like a fairy palace, built 1890-1892 in Gastouri for the Empress Elizabeth of Austria (Princess Sissy).
